DisasterPrep911 and 1st Response Tactical are pleased to announce that we have partnered with the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma to offer the Bleeding Control – Basic (B-Con) course to community Citizen Responders.
The “Stop The Bleed” campaign is designed to help Citizen Responders to recognize severe bleeding and take prompt action to minimize and stop the bleeding until First Responders can arrive on scene. The initiative is in response to past and possible future active shooter and bombing incidents within our country. However, the core concepts of bleeding control can be used under any condition where someone has uncontrolled severe bleeding.
Severe, uncontrolled bleeding can cause death in as little as 4 to 10 minutes. It is often the bystander who can offer the greatest hope for the patient. 1st Response is dedicated to providing quality medical training to citizens of this nation and will be offering this course in the near future. We are also working on more advanced courses that deal directly with treatment of trauma related to active shooter and bombing incidents.
